Description of Scutellonema brachyurus (Steiner, 1938) Andrássy, 1958 (Nemata : Hoplolaimidae) from Sudan.

Abstract



In this study only one species of Scutellonema. brachyurus (Steiner, 1938) Andrássy, 1958 was identified from three soil samples, collected from the rhizosphere of a mango tree (Mangifera indica), from a fruit orchard near Kadogli Town, Southern Kordofan State, Western Sudan, during December, 1998. Our population is comparable to three species namely : S. brachyurus (Steiner, 1938) Andrássy, 1958, S. clathricaudatum Whitehead, 1959 and S. clariceps Philips, 1971. This is the first record of this species from Sudan.
