Abstracts:

The Sudan Gezira Scheme is one of the biggest scale irrigation projects with 880,000 ha of irrigated land. Irrigation canals are classified into 3 types (main, major and minor), and the total length of those is as much as 10,000 km. This region is divided into 113 blocks, 18 groups, and under management according to the division. The third group region, which is close to the central city, Wad Medani, is managed with the most advanced state. We also conducted field survey on the fifth group region on the lower stream of the third last year, and it would be possible to find the changes in local specific characteristics of land use by comparing the two.
