Organizational Structure
Management:
The Agricultural Research Corporation is managed by a Board of Trustees directly responsible to the Minister of Science and Technology. The yet-to-be-formed board of Trustees is composed of a group of eminent local scientists and managers. It plans, organizes, and promotes agricultural research, extension and training policies through the following functions:
- Set priorities on the areas of research in accordance with National Agriculture Policy.
- Provide guidance and direction of the research activities by establishing research institutes, research centres, experimental stations, etc.
- Find financial resources and help to create a suitable environment for work.
- Maintain liaison with national and international agricultural research organizations.
- Recommend budget proposals on the research activities.
- Approve the appointments and endorse the promotion of scientists and senior officials.
Administration:
The ARC is administered by the Director and two deputies, one responsible for Programs and International Relations and the other for Technology Transfer and Research Stations Affairs. Along with an administrative manager who oversees the general administration of the institution.
Research Establishments:
The ARC functions through a network of 22 Research Stations, nine Research Centers and three Central Laboratories (see map). Each center or station is managed by a director while a laboratory is managed by a head.
